The UnipolForum is home for more than 20 types of sports, a 1800 sqm ice-skating rink, a 25 meter indoor swimming pool with 6 lanes, a bowling alley with 22 lanes. Every day 150’000 watts of power are generated by more than 70 Technogym and other sports machines.

The entertainment area hosts music concerts, shows, exhibitions or festivals and can welcome thousands of visitors in a frendly yet functional venue.

The Assago Forum, today UnipolForum, was born in 1990: its particularly innovative project was worth the 1994 European Architecture Award for Sports Facilities, awarded by CONI and the Council of Europe.

450,000 cubic meters of volume, a covered area of ​​over 40,000 square meters, a central arena capable of hosting up to 12,700 spectators and a development on three levels, plus a VIP area with boxes, called respectively SkyPoint and SkyBox: these are numbers that immediately give an idea of ​​how the Forum is one of the main multi-purpose structures in Europe, as well as the largest in Italy: managed by the ForumNet Group, in fact it represents Italy in the prestigious European Arenas Association of which he is a founding member.

In the first years of its history, the Forum of Assago immediately characterized itself as a sports palace: dedicated above all to hockey and basketball (of which it hosts the Milanese teams that are protagonists of their respective sports), already from the inauguration it shows all its versatility and opens with a memorable ice skating gala. In the same years, it repeatedly hosts the international indoor tennis tournament in Milan and, in the following years, manages to decline to host the most diverse disciplines on various surfaces, with competitions at European and world level.

Inside the UnipolForum, the AreaMultisport, a large indoor area open to the public and dedicated to fitness, squash, ice sports (the Forum’s ice skating school is the most important in Italy with over 24 years of history), water sports and bowling; Furthermore, in June 2011, the inauguration of the Beach Forum, an outdoor swimming pool 50 meters long, surrounded by over 10,000 square meters of greenery.

Since the very first years of activity, the structure has also been identified as a temple of national and international music: the “Forum” is an obligatory, and often the only, Italian stop for the tours of the greatest artists in the world. Frank Sinatra‘s concert, in 1991, was defined as epochal, and since then dozens of names have followed that need no introduction, from U2 to Madonna and local artists worldwide famous like Vasco Rossi.

Over the years, the UnipolForum has also offered its public large open-air events (above all, the Festival Latinoamericando) and lots of entertainment, especially dedicated to the family (Cirque du Soleil, David Copperfield, Disney-branded shows, Walking with Dinosaurs).

The subway, already present in the vision of its founder, Giuseppe Cabassi, is now a reality: the Forum is served by the green line of the subway, which places it just seven stops from the center and ever closer to the heart of the Milanese.

HOW TO REACH THE UNIPOLFORUM

The UnipolForum is easily reachable via the Milan Underground Metro Line 2 (Green Line) from the “Assago Milanofiori” stop or by independent means of transport by taking the “Assago Milanofiori” exit from the A7 Motorway (Milan-Genoa) in its urban section and following the directions to the dedicated parking area of ​​the Forum itself.
